Shiraz 2008

Winemaker notes

The 2008 growing season started quite cool and damp and by November we were heading into a great Margaret River summer. Yields of Shiraz were a touch lower than normal, averaging five tonnes per Hectare and we saw a lovely tannin ripeness develop very early on. This set the scene for the Shiraz to be harvested during the last week of March. The season has delivered exceptional Shiraz with a perfumed bouquet, ripe flavours and fine grained, layered tannins.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Dark crimson and vibrant purple hues.
Nose: Lifted aromas of blackberries, blueberries with hints of dusty vanillin oak.
Palate: A long and balanced mouthfeel with fantatstic rich black fruits on the mid-palate. Hints of spice and anise intertwine with sweet vanillin and cedary oak flavours that are complemented by soft powdery tannins.
